Champions League predictions: this week's UCL fixtures, table and model tips

TipsQuant editorial team · Updated

The Champions League is the competition that holds our model together. Domestic leagues are closed systems: a Premier League club's rating is fitted against other Premier League clubs, and nothing inside England says how it compares with a Bundesliga side. The European competitions provide the missing matches. This page carries the UEFA Champions League fixtures for the next seven days with 1/X/2 probabilities, the table of the league phase, and the result, goals and GG tips that cleared our thresholds for UCL matches only. On most weeks that means Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 22:00 EAT.

Cross-league fixtures and what they do to the ratings

Every team in the model has an attack and a defence rating, and every competition its own scoring level and home advantage. A Champions League match is fitted with the competition's own scoring level, but the teams bring the ratings they earned everywhere else, and the result then feeds back into those ratings. This is why a club's domestic form shows up in its European probability and vice versa, and it is also why the first weeks of a European season carry more uncertainty than a domestic one: a side that has rarely played outside its own league is being placed on the shared scale from a handful of matches. The mathematical prediction page explains the shared scale in plain words.

Group-stage weeks, knockout weeks and empty weeks

The competition plays in bursts. During the league phase there are matchdays every few weeks; between them the tables here are empty, and in the knockout rounds the fixtures are two-legged, with the second leg's probabilities ignoring the first leg's score because the model prices each match as a standalone 90 minutes. That last point matters: a team needing three goals plays very differently from one protecting a lead, and the model does not know which is which. In those weeks the goals probabilities deserve more caution than usual.

How we pick, and where to read more

The model is the Dixon–Coles adjusted Poisson model described on the methodology page, with calibrated goals markets and a 50/50 blend with bookmaker odds where those are available. For the European matches in the wider context of a midweek slate, the prediction for today page is the place; for the 90-minute result market across every competition, the 1X2 predictions page.

Any bet can lose, and European nights are famous for the results nobody priced. Decide your stake before the anthem, bet only if you are aged 18+, and read our responsible gambling page for the limits you can set.

Thirty days of settled tips, every competition

Every tip is logged before kick-off and settled automatically from the final score. Nothing is edited after the match.

Where to place this bet

Our recommended bookmaker for these markets is MegaPari.

Frequently asked questions

When do the UEFA Champions League predictions for Tuesday appear?

The fixtures table always covers the next seven days, so Tuesday's and Wednesday's matches are priced from the previous week. Probabilities are refitted each morning and again during the day, so the matchday morning view is the freshest.

How can the model compare a Spanish club with a Portuguese one?

Through the matches they play against common opponents. European fixtures put clubs from different leagues on the same pitch, and those results let the model place every team's attack and defence rating on one shared scale. The connection is strongest for clubs that play in Europe every season.

What happens to a Champions League prediction if a tie goes to extra time?

The tip is void. Every tip is settled on the score after 90 minutes; matches decided in extra time or on penalties are not counted as a hit or a miss. The league phase has no extra time, so this only affects the knockout rounds.

What time are Champions League kick-offs in East Africa?

The main slot of 21:00 in central Europe is 22:00 EAT, with the early matches at 19:45 EAT. Nigeria is two hours behind EAT, so 20:00 and 17:45; Ghana is three hours behind, so 19:00 and 16:45. The site converts each kick-off to your local time.

Are Europa League and Conference League predictions on this page?

No. Both competitions are covered by the model and their tips appear on the day pages, but this page is filtered to the Champions League only.
