Responsible gambling (18+)
TipsQuant editorial team · Updated
Everything on this site is for adults aged 18 and over, and all of it comes with the same warning: any bet can lose. A model that is right 70% of the time is wrong 30% of the time, and those losses arrive in clusters. If you bet, bet with money you have already decided you can lose, and treat the result as the price of an evening's entertainment rather than as income.
Betting as entertainment
The healthiest way to use a prediction site is to decide the stake first and the matches second. A fixed weekly amount, set when you are calm and not after a loss, keeps betting in the same category as a cinema ticket or data bundle. If you find yourself working out how much you need to win back, the stake has stopped being entertainment.
Warning signs
These are the patterns that people who later regretted their betting most often describe. None of them on its own is proof of a problem, but each one is worth taking seriously:
- Betting more than you planned, or more often than you planned.
- Chasing losses: increasing stakes or adding legs to recover money from earlier in the day.
- Borrowing money, delaying bills or using money meant for food, rent or school fees.
- Hiding bets or losses from people close to you.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you cannot bet.
- Thinking about betting during work, study or time with family.
- Betting to escape stress, loneliness or a bad mood rather than for fun.
If two or more of these describe the last month, take a break before deciding anything else.
Practical limits you can set
Most bookmakers, including our recommended operator MegaPari, offer account tools that work better than willpower because they act before you are tempted:
- Deposit limits: a cap on how much you can pay in per day, week or month. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising one is usually delayed by design.
- Time-outs: a short break of a day to a few weeks during which you cannot log in or place bets.
- Self-exclusion: a longer block, typically six months or more, that cannot be reversed early. Use this if a time-out has not been enough.
- Reality checks and session reminders, where available, which tell you how long you have been logged in.
These tools live in the account settings of the bookmaker, not on this site. We do not hold your money or your account, so we cannot set them for you, but we will never discourage you from using them.
Where to find support
If you want to talk to someone, these organisations offer free help:
- Gambling Therapy (gamblingtherapy.org): free online support, including live chat and forums, in many languages including English and French.
- Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org): a fellowship of people who have had the same problem, with meetings in person and online.
Talking to a trusted friend or family member also helps more than most people expect.
What this site does to help
We show a probability next to every tip so that the chance of losing is never hidden. We keep a public track record that shows the misses as plainly as the hits. We never use words that suggest a bet is certain, and we never suggest increasing a stake. The methodology page explains the limits of the model so that nobody mistakes it for inside knowledge, and the about page explains how the site earns money, so that you know where our interests lie.
